Amy Wargo has taught for twenty-four  years, twenty-two of them for Princeton Public Schools.  She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Physical Education from The College of New Jersey .  She also has earned her Masters in Education from Kaplan University and a post graduate degree from LaVerne University

Course Description:

  • The student will learn positive effects of proper nutrition, exercise and overall wellness.
  • The students will realize that a wide variation of growth is normal and will recognize the rate of change between boys and girls.
  • The student will realize that an individuals concept of self will have a positive or negative effect which influences a persons behavior.
  • The student will be able to identify and classify various drugs and their uses, how peer pressure effects our decisions and ways of handling pressures.
  • The students will learn safety precautions and basic first aid.
  • The students will learn various forms of pregnancy prevention, stressing that abstinence is the most effective. (7th and 8th grade only).
  • The students will learn what sexually transmitted diseases are and how they are transmitted. (7th and 8th grade only).

Grading Criteria:
    Students grade will be based on the following:
  • Tests
  • Quizzes
  • Reports
  • Essays
  • Projects
  • Participation
  • Preparation for class

  Grades will be distributed as follows:
    1st and 2nd marking period will appear on the 2nd marking period report card.
    3rd and 4th marking period will appear on the 4th marking  period report card.

Materials for Class Preparation:

       Notebook for health (it can be part of a binder or multi-subject notebook, a one subject notebook, a folder)

        Pen or pencil

        Any work or assignment due
