Lunch Program:  Lunch is available to every student on a free, reduced and paid basis.  Eligibility is determined by completing the appropriate form, which is available in the main office.  Lunch forms are distributed at the beginning of each school year and must be completed and returned as soon as possible.  The information on the forms determines eligibility for free or reduced lunch.

Lunch Schedule:
Grade 6 11:05 am - 11:35 am
Grade 7 12:45 pm - 1:15 pm
Grade 8 11:55 am - 12:25 pm

Instructional aides and the administration are available to assist and monitor students.

School Lunches: Lunch is available for students to purchase in our Cafeteria.  A lunch menu is distributed in homeroom at the beginning of each month and is also available online. All meals are nutritionally balanced and the cost of lunch is $3.95 (subject to change).  Snacks are available at an extra cost.  The school does not lend lunch money.  Money can be deposited in the student’s lunch account (checks payable to Princeton Public Schools Food Service).  Parents/guardians are responsible to keep their child’s lunch account funded.  Student may not charge against their lunch account.  

Student Behavior in the Cafeteria:  The lunch period is 30 minutes.  Students are encouraged to take time to enjoy their lunch and have informal conversations with classmates.  Students are encouraged not to share snacks as there are children with allergies.

Students are expected to:       
1.  Maintain an appropriate noise level in the cafeteria.
2.  Students must use trays for their lunch.  Trays must be placed in the tray receptacle wash station following lunch.
3.  Students must be seated while eating.  No more than 6 students at each table.
4.  Students are responsible for the cleanliness of their own table and for pushing in the chairs prior to departing the cafeteria.
5.  Food and drinks are not permitted outside of the cafeteria.
6.  When dismissed from the cafeteria, students may go to the media center, outside for recess or remain seated in the cafeteria.  Students are not permitted to loiter in the hallway or commons.

1.  Students may visit the media center during lunch recess.  This is on a first come, first serve basis.
2.  Recess is held outside on the playground.  If weather conditions are unfavorable, recess is held in the commons and in the old gymnasium.
3.  The playground and the field behind the swing set are the areas designated for recess.  All physical contact is inappropriate.  Students are not to participate in any type of tag or tackling activity.
4.  Students who do not follow the lunch/recess rules will be excluded from recess.  Students will remain in the cafeteria until the conclusion of the lunch period.  
5.  Athletic equipment such as basketballs, soccer balls and playground balls are issued by the staff on duty.  Students are not permitted to bring their own equipment from home.
6.  All athletic equipment must be return to staff at the conclusion of the recess period.
7.  Students are to use the cafeteria door to exit and re-enter the building during recess.
8.  All injuries must be reported to the school nurse immediately.
