Do Something is selling Sock Monkeys and Red/White Striped socks for the Ronald McDonald House Charity. They will be sold in the mornings and afternoons in the Main Commons. If you would like to give them as a gift, they will offer free gift wrapping. All proceeds benefit the charity, which helps families battling cancer. Socks are $10 and Sock Monkeys are $12. On sale from December 13th through December 20th. 

 

The Yearbook Cover Contest is open to ALL students of JW!

This year's theme is: Building Connections.

The deadline for your finished yearbook cover design is Thursday, December 20th.  See Ms. Luongo in the art room for further information and an entry form. Entry forms are also hung up on the bulletin board outside the main art room door.  Good Luck! 
 

Yearbook Club will meet after school today in room C-205 from 3:00 to 4:00.

 

 Scribbles will not meet this week.

 

Book Club will meet this week on Tuesday and Thursday morning.

 

Latinos en Progreso will host its Holiday Party this evening at 6:30 at the Henry Pannell Learning Center (2 Clay St.). Students in grades 6-12th and their families are invited to bring a dish to share, a gift under $10 if they want to participate in the gift exchange and come ready for games, music and prizes!

 

The First PPS Girls meeting will be held on Tuesday from 3:00 to 4:30. All girls are invited, but please sign up with Mrs. Riely or Ms. Wargo by December 14th as space is limited for our first workshop. Our first challenge is a Gingerbread STEAM Challenge. Be ready to create, inspire and have fun!

  

SAVE THE DATE...The YMCA Youth Forum (formerly known as Committed & Faithful) group will meet Thursday evening at 6:00 in the JW cafeteria for their holiday home cooked dinner celebration! Be ready for some good food and holiday fun.

 

The following sports will meet today:

Wrestling – Practice 3:00 to 4:45

Boys’ Basketball – Practice 3:00 to 4:30

Girls’ Basketball – Practice 3:00 to 4:30

 

Attention 6th graders!  You are invited to take part in a research study as a control participant. The purpose of the research project is to compare students in an after-school program that teaches them to train service dogs with students who do not participate in the program. As a control participant you will be asked to complete an executive functioning questionnaire once now and again later in the school year. Each time you complete a set of questionnaires your name will be entered into a raffle for one of three $10 gift cards to Halo Pub! If you would like to participate, please pick up a permission form from the main office.
