Any student interested in designing this year's yearbook cover is to see Ms. Luongo in the main art room after school. Students must follow the guidelines to have their entries considered. The deadline for all entries is Friday,  December 22nd.


Scribbles, JW's news magazine, is now accepting student and staff submissions of short stories, poetry, essays, articles, editorials, photographs, artwork, riddles, comic strips and book and movie reviews. Please submit your entries electronically to jwscribbles@gmail.com and be sure to include the title of the submission, your first and last name, grade and homeroom teacher. If you have a hard copy submission, please see Mrs. Paredes or Mrs. Porello. Deadline for submissions is Friday, December 8th.




JW has collected 9,800 pounds of food!~ We are only 200 pounds away from an incredible goal of 10,000 pounds! 10,000 pounds would be the most in NJ! Please help us reach our school goal by making one last donation this week!~ All food can be placed in the Blue and Yellow Giving Box now through Friday!



There will be an information meeting to review schedules, show and audition information for the Spring Musical this Friday, December 8, after school from 3:00 to 3:30. This year's musical is SEUSSICAL. Seussical is a fantastical musical extravaganza that brings the beloved Dr. Seuss characters on stage in a truly exciting story. The Cat in the Hat, Horton the Elephant, Gertrude McFuzz, and the Whoville Citizens are just a few of the characters that will pop up on stage! The auditions will take place the first week of January and rehearsals will be after school January through March. If you are interested in acting on stage or being on the stage crew for this show, plan to attend the information meeting this Friday!

Art Club will meet today after school.  Members~please come for the yearbook picture at 3:00, even if you cannot stay.
Students who want to make clay ornaments for the holidays can work in the ceramics art room; and students who want to draw and paint can work in the 2D art room. Anyone who wants to make ornaments for the holidays are more than welcome to come!

John Witherspoon Middle School Cooks/Gardens Club will host a cookie baking session on Monday, December 11, from 3:00 to 5:00. Come join us to bake cookies from our own home-grown JW sweet potatoes, and other cookies, including shortbread.
Group size is limited. Pick up your permission slip in the office, or online at the link in the PTO newsletter, and return it to the office.
